FAQs
FAQs
What's the process when getting a custom build?
The process always starts with a conversation, so get in touch and tell us about your Dream Bike, and we can advise on the best way to make that dream a reality. The next step is to put down a deposit (at least 50%) - this will get the product secured or ordered under your name and the build process underway. We'll be in touch as the build progresses with any updates.
Want to Carry More?
With a wide range of frame and fork-mounted rack systems on the market, and with more appearing every week, it is not possible for us to know exactly which racks will be compatible. Before mounting a rack to your frame or fork, we strongly recommend you get in touch with us for our advice. We will do our best to verify compatibility.
This will minimise the risk of injury, product damage and voiding your warranty. Your local Curve dealer, or the team at Curve HQ, can also help you select a rack system and mount it to your bike for you.
In general, M5 mounts on chainstays and seatstays will accept racks of various types, and the maximum approved weight to carry on a rack is 20kg (or less, depending on the rack rating).
Note: This rating is for smooth roads & gravel. For anything rougher, the weight limit decreases. Use careful discretion when gauging how much weight to carry on rough gravel or off-road adventures.
What payment options are there?
We accept payment in the form of credit card, Pay Pal and EFT. If you'd prefer to pay for your Curve bike or product in multiple payments, please contact us for an invoice with payment options attached.
How long will my order take to ship?
Some products can be shipped immediately and normally land within 10-15 business days. Other products will have a lead time depending on supply levels and build time. As a guide, complete bikes normally take 3-4 weeks, custom wheel builds take 2–3 weeks, and custom frames take 3-6 months, plus shipping time.
All our complete bikes are assembled and tuned before being packed safely for shipping (unless agreed otherwise). This means that you will not have to cut the chain, bleed brakes or set up and tune gears. However, in order for us to fit the bike in the box, some parts will have to come off. This means that some assembly is needed once you receive your new bike.
- Fit the front wheel
- Fit the handlebars on the stem (torque wrench needed)
- Fit the seatpost and adjust the saddle height and angle to your preference
- Fit the rear derailleur and chain *
- Fill sealant in tubeless tyres
* We realise that fitting the derailleur and chain may be something you're not comfortable doing yourself. We leave these parts off and pack them separately in the box to protect the bike and derailleur. The rear derailleur is one of the more expensive components on the bike, and we do not want you to receive your bike with a bent hanger, a broken or damaged derailleur, and/or a scratched chainstay due to chain rattle.

Time for Gravel-Plus!
A larger diameter means more comfort on rough terrain. A smoother ride is also more efficient. The modern gravel race scene has taken this to heart, with pro riders lining up with the widest tyres possible on their frames.
With Big Kev v2, we have committed to the 29-inch wheel platform. With the new Ride 415 VGM carbon fork, Big Kev v2 is optimised for 2.25” tyres, with a maximum width of 2.4”. For sizes SM and up, you can even fit 2.6” tyres with limited mud clearance. Big Kev is sure to quench your wide tyre gravel bike thirst.
Adventure Ready
Let’s face it, to tackle the biggest bikepacking adventures with confidence, you need a bigger tyre. A narrow gravel tyre won’t cut it – no one wants to slash a sidewall on day one or walk a bike up a rocky climb due to lack of traction. Big Kev gives you all the benefits of a drop bar setup, but with the comfort and traction of a gravel-plus tyre.
Whether it’s single-day gravel missions, multi-day flashpacking, or racing the Tour Divide, Big Kev is ready for whatever cycling mission you have planned.
More Storage. More Mounts
Big Kev is built with a larger main triangle compared with other 29er options. This allows full-size frame bags for extra storage, even on smaller sizes. With three bidon mounts, bento mounts, rear rack and fender mounts, and 1x groupset options (boost cranks are not required), Big Kev has a variety of riding styles covered.
Our Ride 415 VGM fork has offset adjustability to fine-tune your ride. In addition, the 3 x M5 mounts on each leg allow you to carry fork-mounted bags or extra bottles. Rated to carry up to 8 kg on each fork leg, this class-leading fork is amazingly robust.
For even more carrying capacity, a framebag might be the way to go. To make sure current, prospective or custom bagging fits your frame size please see our Bagmaker Drawing page.
