Preguntas frecuentes

The new GMX+ V2 is the latest incarnation of the all-terrain, fat-tyre, drop-bar, bikepacking bike that we launched ten years ago.

The GMX+ has always been our version of the ultimate off-road adventure bike: inspired by the Overlanders of the 1890s, tested in real-life conditions, and built for huge distances across rough country with stability, carrying capacity and confidence at the core of the design. That part has not changed. The new model is still unmistakably a GMX+. It has just been improved in the right places.

Still ready to take on multi-week tours through challenging terrain, and carry the water, food and gear to stay safe out there. Still a long, stable bike for rough roads, corrugations, desert sand and river stones.

The idea hasn’t changed - just the execution.

The geometry has been relaxed, with a longer head tube, especially in the larger sizes. At the small end, standover has come down a touch. We’ve made targeted geometry tweaks to match how our customers have used this style of bike over the years, without noticeably compromising its load-carrying capacity or handling.

The tyre benchmark has also changed. The GMX+ V2 is now optimised around 2.6” tyres. That is what most GMX+ riders are actually using, and it also lines up nicely with wide-tyre availability right now. There is still room for 3.0” tyres for loaded missions on sandy desert roads when you need them.

The major update on the GMX+ V2 is the dropout system, which introduces the widest range of drivetrain flexibility possible. The GMX+ V2 uses the same sliding dropout mechanism as the UpRock v2. It is a clever mix-and-match system with a wide range of insert options. The stock setup is SRAM UDH / 160 mm flat-mount brake / Boost spacing, but the frame can be configured for a huge range of combinations across axle spacing, brake mount type, axle type and drivetrain. That includes Rohloff, SRAM T-type, UDH, and hangerless single speed. You just need a separate set of sliding inserts to accommodate a different configuration - that’s a whole lot better than needing a new frame.

The GMX+ V2 also gets a barely visible split in the drive-side seat stay, allowing belt-drive compatibility in a way that is neat, elegant and easy to miss unless you know where to look. It is the same tidy solution used on the UpRock V2, and it gives the GMX+ V2 platform another layer of discreet adaptability. The chain-stays are also more minimal, adding a touch more comfort.

Up front, the GMX+ v2 is built around the super robust Seek 430 FM fork with our new VGM mounts. This low axle-to-crown fork has a class-leading load-carrying capacity of 8 kg on each fork leg and a huge 29“ x 3.0” tyre clearance. It is still the right fork for this bike.

The GMX+ V2 is still the bike inspired by the Overlanders. Still tested in real-life conditions. Still made for going long without support. Still designed around wide tyre clearance, ultra-wide drop bars, and featuring numerous mounting points for storage and water.

So this is not a reinvention; the GMX+ V2 is just an even better execution of the original vision.

Incredibly versatile off-road bike

Having ridden my Curve GMX+ for approximately 15,000 km - including in the Peruvian Andes, the Namibian and Angolan deserts, and Kyrgyzstan - I could not be happier. It is an incredibly comfortable bike that is capable of taking you almost anywhere.
Versatility is where this frame truly shines: From running a front and rear rack, 3″ tires, and carrying up to 14 liters of water to cope with the harsh conditions of the Namibian and Angolan deserts, to a lighter, race-focused setup for the Silk Road Mountain Race, the GMX+ does it all. Ample mounting points and a huge frame triangle ensure that you never run out of storage options and allow for a highly customizable setup tailored to your needs and preferences.

Phenomenal - Love Godzilla, my GMX+ Ti

I’m planning the route of the caravans through Morocco in early 2026. I wanted a bike that would take a 3” tyre and make pedalling through the soft sand and rocky sections more doable. Also ability to fit a big frame bag and bosses for racks and extra water. The GMX+ ticked all the boxes, so I took the plunge after lots of helpful discussion with the Curve folks.
Quickly nicknamed ‘Godzilla’ it’s ‘raced’ Seven in less than 6 hours, done a couple of thousand weekend kms and now just finished a N-S cruise down the Mundabiddi in a pinch over 9 days.
What a fabulous bike!
I love riding it over any of my other bikes - including my previous all time favourite Mason Bokeh. . The 29+ tyres SRAM AXS Eagle set up, carbon dirt hops, geometry and Ti frame mean I can monster over anything in the trail, in absolute comfort all day long. I fitted 55cm Walmer bars which have proved very comfy. Brakes become optional down hill!
The large frame, extra bosses, dynamo hub and ability to fit racks have meant I can set up for extended remote, rough bike packing trips. I can’t wait to do the route of the caravans in 2026 - Godzilla will be fantastic.
What an amazing bike and customer service folks - thank you!!

Tour Divide 2025 After Action Report

Just a note on having completed the Tour Divide in just under 19 Days on my GMX+TI, The GMX+ performed flawlessly with zero mechanicals and no flats.

Over the mostly off-road route of 4,400 km with more than 50,000m of climbing the titanium frame was great for absorbing the bumps and vibrations yet responsive light and agile for digging into the long climbs.
The maximized front triangle allowed me to mount a large full size frame bag, keeping weight low and inside the wheels to optimize performance. With the inside bottle mounts covered by the frame bag, Curve’s unique double bottle cage feature was essential.

The Walmer bars with their wide profile and flare provided the additional clearance for my handlebar bag and additional control for the technical descents (I don’t think too many other rigid drop bar bikes were able to clean both the Fleecer Ridge and Coco Claims descents).
It is clear that the GMX+ was designed for long distance off road events and well designed at that!
Cheers,

Sean

The Curve GMX opens up a world of possibilities.

A Curve GMX+ Ti is what makes the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, The bike make each potential pathway a route to something extraordinary. It knows no bounds, with its long wheel base, 29inch wheels and carrying capacity it allows the adventurous to discovers uncharted territories. Handling every terrain with ease, I felt confident in its abilities and I wasn't disappointed.

Having tested it first on the Tour Divide last year, it lived up to my expectations and more. I rode with 29x2.25 maxxis Ardents, with a regular bikepacking set up. With its multiple bottle mounts I put water bottles on the forks and down tube and two 5litre cargo bags on the rear triangle, using the bottle mounts. I had the K lite dynamo set up, front and rear lights and a USB charger. it was my home from home on two wheels.

Everyone I met had a full introduction to the bike whether they wanted it or not, (I would make a great Curve salesman) news quickly spread and other riders that l came across had already heard of my bike and wanted to see it for themselves.

Would I recommend this bike, 100% yes and any other Curve bike, I had amazing support from the team at Curve, from the purchase to helping with a technical issue when I was miles from no where, in the New Mexico desert.

Just legendary……

Had my GMX+ for over three years now and it’s just an incredible bicycle. Chews anything up in its path and an infinite variety of options for gear, bags and bottles. It looks utterly sublime too!

All the stars in a desert sky

Curve's GMX+ is my favourite bike of all time. After more than 3 years of adventuring with mine, I love what this bike lets me do more and more each time I load it up and launch it out the door. I give the GMX+ all the stars of a desert sky, and our adventures together have shown me plenty of them!

With the long wheel base, capacity for wide tyres, comfortable geometry and ability to carry all the gear for limited resupply, the Curve GMX+ is the perfect bike for long distance and remote bike packing missions. Mine has very capably taken me across deserts, through bog and icy mud, over mountains, bouncing along ridiculously rocky trails and zipping around single track.

The GMX+ loves adventure and can take you anywhere with confidence and comfort, it is just so good!

Unparalleled

It’s without a doubt the most capable off road long distance bike ever made. I have ridden this bike through deserts, snow storms, swamps, and everything in between. Loaded or unloaded it handles beautifully and keeps you really comfy all day long. Big tires and long wheelbase keeps it super stable and let’s it devour anything in its way!

Money can buy you happiness 😏

I’m super chuffed with my Kevin & wanted something burlier for future adventures. There’s plenty of reviews on Curve bikes so I’ll focus on the purchase experience because I think this is what Curve excels at.

From inception, to sourcing parts & final delivery the process was so easy. It didn’t feel like I was just ‘buying’ something but creating (dare I sound corny) ‘a dream’. And you don’t get a naff big red bow like you would with a dream car, but an awesome NEW BIKE DAY photo with the crew. I

I’m now a giggly happy owner of a GMX & I feel like Monkey Magic riding his pink cloud.

Go anywhere, 29+!

I'd give this 29+ stars if I could. At home crossing the desert, as well as the local single track. I've got mine set up with bar end shifter and microshift, but often set up single speed too.

Bikes a Boss

By far my most used and versatile bike! Taken it overseas and done some long haul trips and it doesn’t miss a beat! Big wheels make the difference, will never go back now!!
